The water surface evaporation observation field was built in 1985, which is the largest in China with the most complete evaporator models and the longest observation duration. There are 17 evaporators of different models and specifications installed in China, the United States, and Russia, including one evaporation pool with an area of 20 square meters, one of 5 square meters and one of 3 square meters, covering a total area of 1,500 square meters, with an observation sequence of up to 37 years. Most existing evaporation pools at home and abroad can be compared in this field for observation and analysis, using a combination of automatic records and manual readings is carried out. The manual records are executed in strict accordance with meteorological observation norms to ensure the data specification and standard. Several domestic water surface evaporation fields are constructed with reference to the specifications of this evaporation field.
Based on this field, the research focuses on the relationship between water surface evaporation and meteorological factors, the calibration methods of different types of evaporators, the calculation methods of water surface evaporation, and the long-term dynamic change laws of water surface evaporation.The observation data is an important basic data for the study of hydrometeorology, evaporation law, irrigation forecast, climate change and other fields, and the long-term observation data will provide effective support for the analysis of long-term climate change.
