This field was built in 2005 and is the only field for long-term integrated observation of forage ecosystems on farmland in the North China Plain. There are 30 test plots of 5m×10m with 33 water-injected soil moisture evaporators installed inside. There are 12 different species of forage grasses for testing, mainly observing the water demand and water consumption patterns of various forage grasses, and measuring parameters such as soil neutron moisture, forage fresh biomass, photosynthetic rate, soil respiration, soil nutrients and soil organic matter, as well as conducting pest and natural enemy surveys. Meanwhile, based on this base, we study the effects of forage planting on soil carbon and nitrogen accumulation, soil quality changes and insect diversity in farmland ecosystems, providing scientific basis for the evaluation of ecological functions of grass field ecosystems and the construction of food and grass ecosystems.
